Located beside Somerset Long Bay Beach, Somerset Long Bay East Nature Reserve is an easily accessible haven for wildlife and nature lovers. The reserve features an interpretive walking trail, a bird hide and a large pond that attracts a variety of waterfowl throughout the year.
Whether you’re birdwatching, taking a peaceful stroll, or simply enjoying the natural surroundings, this tranquil reserve offers a wonderful opportunity to experience Bermuda’s diverse wetlands and coastal habitats.
Somerset Long Bay East was purchased by Buy Back Bermuda in 2005. Extensive work was undertaken expanding and dredging the pond – partially filled with trash in the early 20th century – to create a healthier environment for biodiversity. The reserve was opened to the public on Earth Day, 22 April 2007.
